Job Description

Primary Purpose of the JobTo provide excellent standards of visitor service at all times to maximise visitor enjoyment of the site and commercial income; and to ensure the site and its assets are safe and secure.

Principal Responsibilities1. To help delivery of event services to ensure a high-quality visitor experience is always maintained and to optimise income generation and profitability.

2. To achieve these aims through effective teamwork with staff, volunteers, and stakeholders.

3. To support the administration and delivery of all on site functions and in house events.

Main Duties

  1. To provide consistently high standards of visitor care at all times when welcoming visitors to the site; processing sales; answering visitors’ queries and providing information.
  2. To support the events team in maximising the customer’s experience.
  3. Assist in the preparation of food and drink.
  4. To assist in the delivery of events and hospitality across the site including set up, stewarding, bar work and break down.
  5. To work as part of a wider team across the heritage site to deliver organisational objectives.
  6. To take responsibility for your own personal development and to share your learning with others.
  7. To be an advocate for the Heartlands Trust and to promote the aims of the organisation.
  8. To uphold and comply with the organisation’s Policies and the Law in relation to Health & Safety, Financial Regulations, Equal Opportunities, Data Protection and other adopted Policies and Procedures required for the smooth and effective operation of the organisation.
  9. To undertake other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the status of the post as may from time to time be required by the event team and senior managers.
  10. To support the Conference and Weddings Manager in delivery of relevant targets.
  11. To work flexibly to satisfy the needs of the business.
  12. Delivery of regular events and activities across the site including set up, stewarding, running of an event and break down. To work with the other event stewards to achieve a successful programme of events and activities.
  13. Ensuring a good level of personal presentation and a friendly happy attitude.
  14. To report to the Duty Manager on site in the absence of the Events Manager.
  15. To be flexible regarding working patterns and hours. The role is likely to be predominately weekday, weekends, or evenings.
